Position Description

A nonprofit healthcare organization on Long Island is seeking a new, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing team at one of their facilities in Suffolk County.

About the Opportunity:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Length: Ongoing
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 7am to 3pm or 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm
  • Setting: Independent Community Living program
  • Patient Population: Medically underserved (Adults)
  • Caseload: 12 per facility

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all indicated medical appointments are scheduled and followed up appropriately and all medical records maintained
  • Assess medication records monthly to ensure consumers are receiving prescribed medication and that documentation of it is occurring in a timely manner
  • Provide 24-hour emergency on-call coverage for assigned programs, as required
  • Assist and participate in the admission screening process, as necessary
  • Ensure that consumers are living in a safe & hygienic manner; provide resources for infection control
  • Dispense medications and provide hands-on medical treatment, as needed
  • Attend medical appointments and schedule follow-up appointments as per doctor's recommendations
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with the Disabled population
