Position Description

Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Infusion Therapy Unit

Location: Brooklyn, NY 11212

Pay: $70-72/hr

⏰ Shift: 9 AM - 5 PM

Schedule: 5x8

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Infusion Therapy Unit in Brooklyn, NY. This role is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment. The RN will supervise nursing staff, administer infusion therapies, and ensure compliance with all clinical policies and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Patient Care & Assessment:

Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Develop and maintain individualized care plans, including discharge planning and patient education.

✔ Infusion Therapy & Treatment:

Administer blood and chemotherapy infusions for both adult and pediatric patients.

Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately to medical emergencies.

✔ Collaboration & Supervision:

Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal treatment.

Supervise and provide guidance to LPNs, RNs on permit (RNPs), nursing attendants, technicians, and other support staff.

✔ Compliance & Quality Improvement:

Ensure adherence to hospital policies, nursing standards, and safety protocols.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and professional development.

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • BSN Required
  • Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg and Chemotherapy experience preferred
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare billing systems preferred

Certifications & Licenses:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required
  • ONC (Oncology Nursing Certification) – Preferred

Skills & Competencies:

Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to manage stressful situations in a fast-paced environment
